Chapter Twenty - Dreams of the Past [Part Two]

~Dan's PoV~
We had been skyping a lot for almost a year. Sometimes me and Kate just talked but usually we all talked as a group. It was fantastic.
I had found out about a month ago that Phil liked Becca but he refused to tell her and I decided to let him take his time and just tell her when he was ready.
I may have fancied Kate a bit but I would have never admitted that. She was definitely too young for me. That would make me a pedo if I mentioned it to anyone right? Well just in case I didn't even tell Phil and he seemed to have no clue, which is strange because we know everything about each other, even if we technically don't say anything we just seem to know... I guess that's just how close our friendship has gotten over all these years.
Phil and I had found out the date for vidcon this year. Phil was ecstatic, I was really happy about it to just not so insanely... But that's just Phil for you. I texted Kate to ask if she and Prints were available to go online.
She quickly texted back with 'Yeah, hold on I'll go get her.'
'Alright, cool.' I replied then went upstairs to get my laptop. I went back to the couch where Phil sat and sat next to him. I opened skype and a couple minutes later Kate came online.
She wrote 'We're here. Beckys at my house at the moment.'
I sent the call invitation and they quickly accepted. A moment later I seen a pixel Kate and Becca on my computer.
"Hey." Phil said waving.
"Hi." Becca said.
"'Ello~" Kate said with a small wave.
"Hello," I said but before I could get to the point Phil interrupted me.
"We found the date for vidcon. Are you guys going?" He asked.
"Um... Well..." Becca asked looking at Kate.
"Not sure... I'm not sure if we were invited... And I'm not sure how my parents would feel about letting their sixteen year old daughter go to California to go to a giant internet party and meet up without actual adult..." Kate said adjusting her bangs awkwardly.
"Becca's an adult and we invited you~" Phil said trying his hardest to convince them.
"Do you really count her as an adult, really?" Kate asked laughing.
"Hey!" Becca said. We all laughed, even the one who just seemed offended.
"Well back on subject~" Kate said. "I'll go speak to my parents about it~ You guys can speak to each other..." She said sliding off her bed, I heard a thud as her feet hit the floor. "Just don't get your hopes up..." She added before I heard the door close.
Becca seemed awkward without Kate around but she soon became more comfortable as her and Phil waffled about vidcon and all the things they were going to do.
"She said for us not to get our hopes up... Remember?" I said interrupting their conversation about disney. I leaned back into the couch.
"Ah don't worry." Becca said waving her hand. "Her mom is okay with most stuff."
"But, as she said, she's sixteen, going to California with her best friend who is only somewhat an adult and meeting up with to british adult guys..." I said.
"But you guys are nice, she would be okay with that... And Kate's an expert liar so if need be she can figure something out!" Becca said smiling.
"For all you guys know we could be rapists!" I practically yelled, sarcastically of course.
Phil covered up my mouth. "Stahp that. Stop yelling in the house the landlord is going to kick us out if we keep doing this stuff." He took his hand off my face,
"Well it's true... But there are much worst people in our flat! Like the guy having sex upstairs, the guy with the tardis and the crazy cult leader! More or less anyone who we don't know about yet." I said.
"I guess that's true-" Phil started but was interrupted by yelling coming from the other side of the computer screen.
"Um... What's happening?" I asked Becca.
"I have no idea..." Becca said. "I'll be right back..." She said setting the laptop next to her sliding off the bed. I heard the yelling become louder then stop altogether. I heard stomping then Kate climbed back on her bed followed by Becca.
"Sorry..." Kate said. "I will figure something out... When's vidcon?"
"The twenty sixth through twenty eighth of June but did your mum say no?"
"Not exactly, she wants to talk to my dad about it and I dunno..." She said putting her face in her hands and sighing. "I'll try to convince her tomorrow... I guess I'll just have to get back to you guys..."
"Oh okay... Hopefully she'll let you go..." Phil said.
"Don't worry, I'll go... Or at least I think I will..." She laughed.
"Well I have diner with my parents in a half hour and I haven't even gotten ready yet..." I said.
"Oh okay... We have some videos to make anyway." Kate said shrugging.
"Alright well bye..." I said waving.
"Byee~ I'll text you or something after I speak to my mom." Kate said.
We said our goodbyes and Phil ended the call.
I got ready to leave and got to the diner a bit late.

The next day Kate texted me saying 'WE'RE GOING TO VIDCON!! ^-^'
'Awesome!! ' I replied and we texted back and forth making plans for when we each were leaving, when we'd meet up, what we were going to do, etc.
I emailed both Hank and John Green to make sure that us inviting them was okay. John emailed back some hours later 'Hank was supposed to send them invitations... Did they not get them? We asked them to be on a couple panels and such. I'll go speak to him about it.' Hank emailed me almost the same thing. I told Kate about it and she said that she nor Becca had gotten an email.
A couple hours later she texted me telling me all the panels, meet ups and a Q and A they were doing. By then it was four am, my time, so I had to get off to bed.

~VIDCON 2017~Dan's PoV~
We got to our hotel room at seven pm on the twenty fourth. We decided to leave a day early for jet lag reasons. I texted Kate and Becca to tell them we were here but I was just gonna go to sleep since I've been awake since five am. They didn't text back in the next ten minutes so I just went to sleep.
The next morning I woke up at a bit after six. So a bit after one our time. Shit I hate jet lag and time zones...
I got up and went over to Phil's room to see if he was awake yet. He was. He was just sitting on his bed on his computer. "Breakfast?" I asked.
He jumped.
I laughed "What? Didn't you see me?"
"No..." He said "But food sounds good." He added closing his laptop and sitting it next to him as he got up.
We went to a restaurant we had gone to a couple years ago. They make really good waffles and coffee, even though their coffee isn't even close to starbucks perfection.
We didn't really do much that day. Just sat on our laptops and dealt with jet lag. We went for lunch around one then went back to watch some show Phil found on the television.
A couple hours before dinner I asked Phil and we decided to invite Kate and Becca to dinner. I texted Kate and Phil texted Becca.
Kate quickly replied with 'Sounds awesome ^-^ What time?'
'Around six?'
'Sounds good!'
'Alright, see you then.'
'Okay, see ya.'

We got to the restaurant a bit before six. We found a table and talked as we waited for Kate and Becca to show up.
They walked through the doors five minutes after, looking extremely confused. Becca was wearing jeans and a pink t-shirt. Kate wore a black v neck t-shirt with some black skinny jeans.
Phil waved his arm so the girls could see us. Both of their faces lit up. We stood up as they walked over. We all hugged, not as a group, I just don't want to explain each individual hug.
We were in a booth so Kate sat on the end next to me, I sat next to Phil and Becca sat on the other side.
"It's awesome to finally see you guys. Face to face that is." Phil said happily.
"Awesome would be the correct word." Kate said with a small laugh. "And sorry we were late. A small group of fans seen us so we took selfies and stuff with them."
"The hassles of being a celebrity, youtuber." I laughed.
"Totally." Kate said with a laugh. "No, but it was awesome."
"The fans are the best part of vidcon." I said.
"And disney~" Phil added.
"Disney really isn't 'part of vidcon' it's just sorta what people do after vidcon..." I said.
"Well it's kinda like vidcon anyway..." Phil said.
"I mean if it's basicly a vidcon tradition by now so it's just part of vidcon experience." Kate said.
The waitress walked over and took our orders. And after she left we all talked about vidcon. Kate and Becca were freaking out over a panel they were going to be on. We found out we were actually all going to be on another panel with some other youtubers. We also decided we were all going to see Fall Out Boy and Paramore live. This was going to be a awesome couple of days.

We were standing in a crowd of people at the concert, jumping, dancing, and acting how people do at concerts. Then I noticed someone was petting my head I opened my eyes to be blinded by bright light, I blinked a couple times noticing I was in a hospital room a lifted my head slightly to look around.
"Morning love." Kate said with a little laugh.
"Was I asleep?" I asked even though I knew the answer.
"Hmh." She said nodding. "What'd you think you were doing?" She laughed again.
I shrugged. I was still sitting on my chair and when I woke up my face was laying on my arm on the hospital bed.
Kate leaned over to kiss my forehead.
"How you feeling?" I asked.
"Much better. Just wish I could go home..." She said.
"I wish you could too... But you'll only have to stay here for another day so you'll hopefully be home tomorrow." I smiled.
Phil and Becca walked in. Becca carried a bag and Phil had four starbucks.
"Morning sleepy heads." Phil said holding out a coffee for me.
I took the coffee "They let you bring those in?" I asked pointing the thumb of my right hand towards the coffees.
"I asked the nurse and she said it was fine." Phil said handing Kate a coffee.
"Thanks." Kate said sipping her coffee.
Becca sat the bag on Kate's bed and took the last coffee.
"Thank god." Kate said opening the bag and pulling out her computer.
"Your welcome." Becca said smiling and doing a little bow.
"Oh my- Your god??" Kate said sarcastically.
"I'm Kira." She replied staring at her evilly.
"I'm L." Kate said staring back.
"Best friends?" Becca asked.
"Best friends!" Kate replied.
"What just happened?" Phil asked.
"I have no idea..." I replied.

(A/N: I know this is probably an awful chapter... I'm so fucking sorry!! I just suck at writing for Dan... If you couldn't tell my vocabulary is shit and Dan being posh articulate makes it really hard for me to write as him so sorry again I just couldn't get around it this time...
